At Downtown Yoga we believe in making yoga accessible to everyone. We offer beginners classes as well as classes that will prove challenging and engaging to all levels of practitioners. Our instructors will scale movements to meet the needs and skill level of every student in the class. Read below for general descriptions of each.
Beginners Wether you are just starting your practice or you want a chance to deepen your existing practice this class will offer you the foundation and alignment of yoga postures as well as transitions between them. There will also be breath and meditation practices to support you.
Restorative A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
Vinyasa The vinyasa is defined as placing things (like yoga poses) in a special order. Vinyasa links our body and breath together in fluid way to support a clearer mind and body.
Yin Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time. Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. .
Power (Lunch and Core) These vinyasa classes are designed to bring awareness and strength to your body's energy center...and they might just make you sweat a bit too!
